Once again, Bitergia will be at OSCON, held this time in Portland, at Oregon convention center. OSCON, one of the biggest open source conventions in USA, has been ground zero of the open source movement and nowadays continues to be the catalyst for innovation among companies.
We’ve got great news to announce! This year Bitergia is preparing a workshop in Portland for any professional related with software development. Meet the 100% open source software development analytics platform and discover why Bitergia Analytics can make a difference with your competitors.
After the Community Leadership Summit, our next big event in Portland has been the FLOSS Community Metrics meeting, organized by us together with Puppet Labs, that hosted the meeting in their offices. Special thanks to Dawn Foster and Kara Sowles for all their help and support.
The room was crowded, with people from organizations like Eclipse Foundation, Red Hat, Google, Twitter, PayPal, Open Source Initiative, LibreOffice, Kaltura, Cloudera, etc. There has been a lot of interesting topics and talks, and almost everything is already available in the 2014’s edition website
Let’s try to brief how it was…
Our journey in Portland started with a very special event: Community Leadership Summit on 18th and 19th July. Also known as CLS, it has been the perfect event for feeling the engine behind most of the Open Source projects: Community.
It has been an intense July, with 10 days in Portland participating in 3 interesting events:
Community Leadership Summit, with multiple tracks and some of them focus on community metrics
Free / Libre Open Source Software Community Metrics meeting, hosted by Puppet Labs and with very interesting talks and presentations about why, what and how to measure community driven software development
OSCON, where despite our participation on Open Cloud Day we had very interesting conversations and meetings with people interested on software development metrics and how we are working with our customers
So, we will write 3 posts during next weeks to brief each event and the experiences we had there… Meanwhile, the photos have been already posted in our Google Plus profile. Stay tunned!
